Growing | Nate Deyesso

October & November 2011

Deyesso’s newest collection, Growing, showcases sculptures that explore organic forms with metal. The collection was inspired by found objects and reclaimed materials that would normally be cast aside as useless, but instead, are the fodder for new ideas to grow.

Large format photos of the new work taken by photographer Sarah Coleman, a member of the Bakery Photographic  Collective in Westbrook, are also part of the collection and cleverly framed by Deyesso.

Deyesso has been a part of Corduroy since our opening four years ago, helping design and build all of the boutique’s displays and board stands which are currently on display in the downstairs boutique.

Deyesso’s commercial work, DSO Creative Fabrications, was awarded the 2010 Entreverge Award which recognizes entrepreneurs for their innovation and contribution to the Maine business community. For the past 6 years, DSO Creative Fabrications has provided furniture, displays, and original works of art for commercial buildings, residential homes and public spaces. A few of those local businesses that have utilized DSO’s signature flare are Whole Foods and the recent addition to Portland’s creative community Quimby Colony Artist Residencies.
