July 2010
What if we asked 7 of our favorite artists to pick their favorite color and create a show on just that?
Rainbowloical was all about it.
Featured artists included Nick z who loves red, Brandon McLean who chose orange, Linda Wary-Meyers who chose yellow and created a soft sculpture that was out of this world named Cornell Mustard, Pine Haven Collective’s Katrine Hildebrant spent hours paper cutting green, John Fellows created ocean inspired blue lino-prints, Mark Warren-Jacques chose indigo, and lastly Jamie Watson was dreaming of violet.
During the time of the show, our featured shaper was our good pals Grain Surfboards. We took a drive down to the shop before the show and collected all their scrap cedar strips that the were going to compost and created a one of a kind window installation. It felt pretty cool to use some old scraps and create such a colorful explosion for the windows ~ and it’s never bad to have a brew with Mike and Brad.
You can still view and purchase a few of these colorful pieces in the store.
